Overview
About Me
I'm that weird, but funny guy (or I like to think). Archaeologist by trade, but train driver (trainee at the moment) by day (or by night), I'm interested in basically everything. I like to learn new skills, new things, meet people and most importantly enjoy life.
I've been living in Belgium for most of my life, but did a few years here and there, especially in Maple Syrup Country (Canada for those in the back) and in New Zealand. At the moment, I'm living in my old grandmother's farm with my brother where I'm setting up a forge and a basic shop where I will be able to make things and stuff that come out of my imagination. Also, I'm an avid beer connaisseur and thus drinker. If you like pints, we've got something in common.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I've established back home in Belgium, I am a bit limited on long term trips. Can't go away for half a year anymore ! Still though, I have caught the travel virus. I want to visit, explore, experience, meet and enjoy life ... but on shorter intervals. I'd like to visit countries two or three weeks at a time, with my backpack and meet people on the way.
Also, once I have set up the place and feel comfortable about it, I'd like to be able to welcome people into my home. I think my brother, my friends and I would be delighted to meet people and help them travel around the world. We're a merry bunch, you'll see. I have too many couches and beds here anyway !

Music, Movies, and Books
I like music. I'm a musician myself (drums, guitar, base and whatever I can puts my hands onto). I prefer rock music, especially the golden era of the 60's and 70's. That ranges from The Beatles to the Doors going through Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd (especially the Floyd). I also really like Blues and Jazz, Funk, Punk, Reggae, classical music, and even rap, to a certain extent (trying to keep my mind open to good stuff !). So yeah, if you like music, things should work !
I am an avid reader. I like reading by the fire, at work during my pause, or anywhere basically. I have a decent collection, but like all people who read books, You never seem to have enough. I really enjoy Science-fiction (especially the Dune trilogy), Heroïc-Fantasy (Lord of the Rings ... Do I really have to mention Tolkien ? ^^).
Movie wise, I am a huge Kubrick fan and appreciate long movies in which you can really ... disolve yourself into !?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made a knife ! It's bulky and not beautiful, but it works. More seriously, I don't think I've done anything particularily "amazing", I like to stay humble. I also like to think that most of what we accomplish is amazing. It's the small things that are amazing !
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been teaching English and French for quite a while, evening courses and I used to give Guitar and Drum lessons (but it seems time is limited in a day and one need to ... sleep ?). So if you want to learn or perfect a language, I'm more than willing to give you a few hours of my time.
I like sharing and learning myself so anything I can learn from you is haven sent !
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to share what I know. As stated before, I've been a teacher for quite a few years and I like to teach. If you want to learn languages or metalworking/woodworking, I can teach you what I have.
I like to share drinks, cosy evenings where you can share your story, what you've been up to and what your plans in life are. I can share mine !
I know Wallonia pretty well, especially the South, as well as Luxembourg, so I can show around places, nature, museums, churches, monuments and basically what's nice to see and to experience.
I'm into making beer with a friend, so when it's ready, I can also share my own handmade brew !
