So far I have used the couchsurfing app both for traveling and hosting. And I loved it! I made very good friends through couchsurfing, because I think it is a very genuine way to meet people. It's the best way to do the best encounters and discover a country. It's far different from going to resorts. I am easy going so it is perfect for me !
