I have been using Couchsurfing a few times with friends and family and I have always been warmly welcomed. I really like this concept of sharing and meeting new people. It is the best platform I have used so far to bond ties with other travelers or locals and learn from their experiences and adventures. That makes it UNMISSABLE !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Kilimandjaro! I thought I would die up there .... But I went on and reached the 5 989,5 meters. For 6 days I walked between 5 to 8 hours, passing through the jungle at first, then drylands with few bushes on the side, thick fog paths, and rock walls. Days were warm and sunny, nights freezing and enlightened by thousands of starts. On the 5th day, I barely slept and aimed for the summit for more than 12 hours, walking in the night, enduring a temperature going below 20°C. And suddenly there it was, the edge of the chain, surrounded by voluminous clouds, massive glaciers erecting here and there, and while I was exploring this sensational new environment, all the hardship and the pain lifted away, and I remained there silent, breathless, completely stunned .... (yes I sometimes mistake myself for a writer ^^)
