About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling from St. John's Newfoundland to South America and far away from my comfort zone.
ABOUT ME
I grew up on a small island off the coast of another island on the east coast of Canada. I spent my youth climbing trees, cliffs, building shelters and getting lost in the forest before moving to the vibrant city of St. John's, just across the bay.
These days I'm more into quieter things like making meals and sharing some beers with like minded folks, reading a book, having a good conversation or walking and hiking but I still take great joy in seeing live music and having a hearty laugh over some drinks at the bar. That, and being on the road with my sweetheart and making french toast on our camp stove in zero degree weather.
I've spent the last couple of years writing and directing short films and working in the film industry and mentoring youth in filmmaking. But the highway is calling my name and all I can think of is where to go next and what will I see and learn and who will I meet in the next town I visit.
I'm craving something new. Seeking an honest life. Something meaningful, something down to earth and experiences that will take me out of my comfort zone. I want to expand my personal universe. I want to know more about what it means to be a human on this earth in ways I have yet to discover that will nourish my body and my soul. And I want to laugh more and fear less.
PHILOSOPHY
be kind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing (so far) has allowed me to see a new place through the eyes of someone who loves where they live. It's more than a place to crash. It's a chance to meet new friends, gain new insights and feel more connected to a place. Each new host is a different experience, so we respectfully follow their lead.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My boyfriend introduced me to couchsurfing less than a year ago. He's participated for years, both hosting and surfing. We've been surfing our way through Atlantic Canada and the United States and will be surfing into Mexico pretty soon. I'm eager to host once we settle somewhere again. I can't believe how kind and generous and fun everyone has been. It makes the challenges of being on the road totally and absolutely worth it. Nothing but enlightening and easy going experiences so far.
