ABOUT ME

i think wanderlust is so much overused. nonetheless, i see myself aiming to be an avid traveler, trying to balance between my work and also traveling. I have traveled to all 7 continents by 30 years old! Hence, I tend to be more selective in the destinations from now on. My focus is much on nature and wildlife. Sometimes, I dig culture too. Backpacking keeps me going, and it taught me to appreciate the nitty gritty parts of life, and work life balance :) At the same time, really want to play good host to whoever who comes to Singapore and also help the less fortunate when i have free time.

Some great films: The Schindler's list, Still Alice, the Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the Sound of Music, 500 days of summer, any works by Wes Anderson, Damien Chazelle, Richard Linklater. A MCU fanatic too.

i like stories of resilience, esp those of wars (rape of nanjing, Auschwitz etc). really shows the extremes of the psyche of human beings. other than that, motivational or some light hearted comedys are of interest :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If I can only put down 1, that would be my trip to Antarctica and getting to know the ice, wildlife and effects of climate change on this nature governed world. :)

If I can pen down a handful more, these would be it:
1. Swimming with humpbacks (a couple breaching!) in Tonga. INCREDIBLE.
2. Watching a live world cup match and hang gliding on the same day in Rio
3. Definitely my soulful trip to the Easter Island, understanding the Moais and the Birdman Cult.
4. Patagonia :) One of the best hikes ever.
5. Hot air balloon and witnessing the Wildebeest Migration in Masai Mara
6. Bungee Jumping @ Verzasca Dam and attending Jack Johnson's gig back to back in Locarno.
7. The drive from Jasper to Banff (Icefield Parkway) during Winter enduring a freezing -33 Celsius.
8. Viewing the solar eclipse and hiking the Teton Crest Trail in Wyoming.
9. Arctic Circle Trail in Greenland.
10. Not really done this, but happened to me - Being lifted by a wild African Elephant, and getting dehydrated alone in the middle of Mana Pools National Park.

i would love to know about the culture of people and their places they lived in. Even for a small country like Singapore, I'm so proud that we have a whole lot of food as our heritage. so i believe that there will be endless things to share and learn from each other.
