About Me
Never know what to type here...but I'm just a super relaxed guy who loves to travel and do interesting things. A year ago, I dropped my life in the US to move to Japan, and it's been one of the best years of my life! I love trying all sorts of things, exploring, and having good conversations with people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've used couchsurfing a bit to meet new people abroad, and hope to use it both to surf and continue to meet people in the future! I've couchsurfed in Istanbul before, met with a surfer in Rome, and have gone to some local CS meetups, so CS has definitely been a cool part of my international experiences in the past.
Interests
I enjoy a lot of simple things -- reading, .listening to music, playing poker, sitting on the computer...but also enjoy playing tennis, going out drinking, karaoke, hiking, and all sorts of stuff.
I think I have a pretty good balance between the introverted and extroverted bits of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I listen to some of everything! I love classic rock and some metal (especially prog + symph), but also love some EDM/electronic stuff, hip hop, folk, and even classical from time to time. Every sound does something so different! Some favorites are Rush, Foo Fighters, Porter Robinson, and Wintersun!
Movies: I'm a sucker for stoner comedies (hi Harold + Kumar), action movies, and any sort of interesting drama/thrillers (City of God, RFAD), but I'll watch just about anything -- just no horror or gore please!
Books: Lots of SciFi and Fantasy. Some favorite authors are David Eddings, Isaac Asimov, and Tad Williams
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think most of my "amazing" experiences have to do with either travel or living here in Japan. Leaving all my friends and family behind to move to another country is a bit interesting, for sure! And I have some amazing memories -- spending New Year's Eve in Rome, visiting the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, and meeting family for the first time in Norway among them.
I don't know if these things are really amazing, but they're some of my most valuable experiences for sure.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't know if I can teach that much, but I'm happy to help with English (have been an English teacher for one year), and I'm also happy to teach both chess and poker if anyone's interested in those games.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully some fun times and good conversation? I don't know!
