Overview
About Me
Hi There! We are Justin & Alita Schaller - we got married in Fiji in Augist of 2013 and have been travelling ever since (kind of). I am a professional photographer and Alita is a customer service superstar, but together we own and operate a property maintenance company in Adelaide, Australia. We aren't accepting guests at the moment because we are on the other side of the world :-)
We live by the mantra that the journey of life is best undertaken from a place of love, generosity, and gratitude, and we pursue happiness by living in harmony with the world around us and the continued aspiration to do better, both for others and for each other. We inspire each other and aim to inspire others. We believe that each and every person on this little blue planet deserves to the opportunity to make their dreams come true, and wish to encourage everyone we meet to help make the world a better place. We are very open minded and try to live an exclusively non-judgemental lifestyle.
Together, we try to take nothing for granted, and make the most of any situation. We believe nothing in the world is unchanging, and therefore we have devoted our lives to learning and improving our understanding of how the universe works and how we can help others to live happier, more fulfilling lives.
Ultimately, we love life, and we love the people we meet along the way. We are here for such a terribly short time, and we feel that it is through spreading love and happiness that we can make the most of our time here.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We believe that the best way for people to see Australia is through the eyes of the locals who live and breathe our unique culture every day and we believe that our pursuit of good karma starts with opening our doors and our hearts to travellers from all across the globe. Right now, we are embarking on the adventure of a lifetime, and believe that couchsurfing is the single best way to find people who have a similar outlook on life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We traveled to Nepal in April of 2015 and climbed to Mt. Everest Base Camp, just two weeks before the horrific earthquakes hit Kathmandu and the surrounding regions. We spent the next weeks fundraising and visiting villages, delivering food, shelter and medical supplies to those most in need. Few things in my life have affected me so profoundly.
Teach, Learn, Share
Justin: My passion is photography, and it has been ever since I first picked up a camera in high school. Since then, I have pursued this passion to all four corners of the globe, and I love nothing more than to teach this craft to as many people as I can along the way. I'm also passionate about nutrition and how we can use it to change our lives for the better.
Alita: I am as passionate about yoga and general wellbeing as Justin is about photography. It has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember and I find incredible karmic joy in teaching others how to get the most out of their yoga practice.
Together: We are both very social, outdoorsy people, and we often feel most at home on a mountain top, or on a forest trail, or under the stars. We can share some wonderful stories about our adventures from all over the globe.
What I Can Share with Hosts
For guests:
We can offer you a modest but very welcoming place to stay in one of Australias' most beautiful old cities. When we are not working, we are often out exploring the country ourselves. Usually hiking of traversing old access routes in our 4x4, and we love company! We guarantee fun evenings with games and wine and great food, or if you prefer - blissful silence and a comfortable room..
For hosts:
We don't believe Couchsurfing is a free ride, and we want to help as much as possible. We will be happy to clean your dishes, to cook for you, to take that invasive spider out of your house, to play card games with your grandparents, to fix your leaky tap, to teach you something exciting about Australia and it's dangerous animals, or to simply be a kind spirit to keep you company.
