ABOUT ME

I'm a 30-something guy who likes bicycles, traveling, board games, beer, rock climbing and good company.

I like telling and hearing stories and especially bad jokes, which I do not remember afterwards so you can tell them to me at least three times before I remember that I've heard it before ;)

PHILOSOPHY

I'm mostly a pragmatic person and my views on the world change on depending what I've been reading lately. So if it's John Rawls, I will be explain feverishly how the society's rules should be formed. Or if I've been reading Daniel Kahnemann about decision making, I will be frothing from the mouth about how tough it's to make good decisions. And let's not go into Nietzsche.

But as a philosophy I believe that we should seek to treat others as we want ourselves to be treated. There is never enough of empathy in the universe.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling myself with couch surfing and commenting on posts in the Helsinki CS groups. Sadly can't host at the moment but will definitely get into that too!

Intereses

Bicycles (mostly riding them), boardgames, beer, good food, rock climbing, traveling and reading. And music! And did I remember to mention good beer? And my secret passion is computer games (I used to be a world of warcrack addict :p)

Música, películas y libros

I'm a big fan of live music and I go see shows from Canadian punk (The new values), Norwegian death metal (Kvelertak) to contemporary music (Ludovico Einaudi). As with almost everyone, my music tastes depend on my mood. Quiet indie folk in the slow Sunday mornings and fast powerful beats while biking in funny looking tights.

I've always loved reading but lately have not had that much time, but happily traveling is the perfect excuse to read. Perhaps my all-time favorites are Count of Montecristo or the Three Musketeers from Dumas.

And about movies my favorites are Donnie Darko, The Reader, Atonement, Wall-E (yeah, I'm a sucker for kids animations), Memento and Happiness from Todd Solonz. I also enjoy stuff like Batman movies, old Star Wars flicks, Star Trek and Indiana Jones and other nerdy things. Usually I end up watching cheesy action/comedy/SciFi poo instead of anything fancy and smart but such is life!

Algo increíble que he hecho

Got lost after illegally crossing the border between Canada and US and ended up on the wrong mountain we were supposed to climb. Was a hike I will not forget anytime soon. Luckily we had warm beer & semi edible rhubarb rasperry pie waiting in the car, once we managed to stumble back to it.
