About Me

In Zwickau since December 2022 until ~

Me and my husband Levent are usually very positive and fairly uncomplicated people. We enjoy the simple things in life and don't need much to be happy. We love animals of all kinds, interacting with them, learning from them. I've had tortoises all my life basically and my oldest one has been with me for 24 years now. Since we moved to Italy we also have a bunch of cats living with us that used to be strays. 😻

We love the sea, the beach, the mountains and just being in nature in general and we're trying our best to preserve it and minimise our personal impact on the environment as much as possible. 🧿

Also we are very interested in health and nutrition, as we think being healthy goes hand in hand with happiness. We both live a completely plant-based and vegan lifestyle 🌱. We love cooking with a massive variety of healthy, if possible local, foods and are constantly trying new things as well. Levent is an excellent chef and I believe my meals are fairly decent as well 😁.

"We should all be eating fruits and vegetables as if our lives depend on it - because they do." (Dr Michael Greger)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are definitely not "typical" holiday makers, we always love to immerse ourselves directly into the culture and what better way is there than to actually get in touch with locals or in fact meet travelers? I personally had so many great experiences on here, met so many wonderful people and always enjoyed both hosting and staying with others.

I first heard about couchsurfing when I was studying at university in Germany and immediately started hosting and also making the most of it while traveling during semester breaks. Back in the UK I didn't have the space to host for a while, then I met my husband and a few years later I casually told him about it and he was intrigued, so we started hosting together and we absolutely love having people with us.

We haven't really surfed much as a couple but might do so at some point when traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, there is always so much to share when you meet someone completely new and when two or more people cross each others' life's paths just for a brief moment in time.
In practical terms we love to share our space, our home cooked food and whatever else needed in daily life with guests.
In broader terms, it's always great to share experiences, personal stories, listen to others and their perspectives and outlooks on life.
