About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To unroot myself from such stationariness as has been myself thus far.

ABOUT ME

Music pretty much applies to all of my focuses. The time that's not spent playing music is spent thinking about shapes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Remember the olden days, when you could just walk into Odysseus's house and he'd be obligated to give you roast duck? I want to uphold that fine courtesy.

Interests

Music; food, and how to cook it; exploring; self-sustenance; growing plants; bicycle travel, and other means of avoiding cars; getting to know folks, even though getting to know me can sometimes be a little tedious at first due to my inability to small-talk.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most enormously: Chick Corea, Bela Fleck, Selda Bagcan, John Berberian, George Mgrdichian, Paco de Lucia, Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov, Bang On a Can, Tabula Rasa, etcetcetc...

Some authors: Mark Z. Danielewski, James Joyce, Kahlil Gibran, Robert M. Persig

Movies: Wes Anderson, Hayao Miyazaki, Darren Aronofsky.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My joy thus far has come simply from growing as a person and as a musician. I'm still awaiting my time to expand into amazement at something before my experience. I've yet to see the world, and I have done little of the extraordinary.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn about anything anyone wants to teach me. If you want to tell me about it, I'll probably want to hear about it.

I'll happily expand anyone's music as much as I'm able.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always have my guitar with me, even on bike. There's no better way to bond with strangers than exchanging nice sounds, as far as I'm concerned. I can at least offer you that, as well as accompaniment to your favorite local spots to eat and drink; or swim, jump off of stuff, climb onto stuff. I will be especially ecstatic if I could accompany you in doing the latter three in reverse order.
