Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find joy and adventure in everyday life. Be kind.
ABOUT ME
Happily middle aged, long haired white chick with glasses. I look familiar to everyone, and I look a lot like someone's mom- probably because I am.
PHILOSOPHY
there are good people just about everywhere, and adventures in ordinary life. I want to live with laughter and joy, see the sacred beauty in the world, and act so as to be free of guilt, shame or regret.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
New to the project, but I've always traveled by staying with friends and family, and I'm always glad to offer space, rides, advice and contacts when I can.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When my boys were 5 and 8 we went to a friend's wedding in Den Hague, Holland. A friend of mine from Toronto gave me a reference to friends of hers in Oxfordshire, England, where we stayed for a couple of days before doing down to London where we stayed at a Hostal. From there we took the train to Leiden where we stayed with a friend of the bride. An immensely memorable trip for all of us!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen mostly to public radio, folk music and some "classic rock". What my boys call "progressive metal" I remember as "art rock"...
I read mostly SF and Fantasy, kids or young adult books, some history and anthropology.
I don't watch a lot of visual media, but we had fun using Netflix to fill in the boys' cultural education- Gene Kelly/Fred Astair movies, Mel Brooks, other commonly referenced films. I don't like horror or anything too hyperactive.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Everything is amazing.
The mountains in Brazil were breathtaking. My friends said "trust the horse". Sure, the horse is fine- it's the saddle I wasn't sure about...
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach horse back riding. I'm glad to help someone get started with simple sewing or embroidery projects. I frequently find myself teaching an "intro to Wicca" class. I'm somewhat familiar with Celtic culture and mythology. I'm a bit of a storyteller and am happy to teach the skill of storytelling. My guilty desire is to be a copy editor, and I'm a fairly good writing teacher.
