About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I have a dream, a big dream, and I hope to fulfill it, to make it happen.
ABOUT ME
All about me? Are you kidding me? How about if I write an 'encyclopedia katarina'? I am fun, easy-going, friendly, spontaneous and adventurous. I am a travel addict but lack time to do as much of travelling as I'd prefer. I have lived and worked in various countries (e.g. U.S., Scotland, Nigeria, Canada, Iceland). I enjoy being a friend :D I'd love to be able to create rainbows, to play the harp, to read all the books I've collected and more. My tendency is to l-o-v-e many 'things' because I can't go half way with my feelings. Once I like something, then I like it fully and passionately, be it a song, a snowflake, a glass of wine, a hike, a person...
PHILOSOPHY
Well, I am all about feelings and living my life in the 'carpe diem' mode even though my personality tends to be future-oriented. I believe in a better world, a vegan world, where there is no harm done to a single Earthling. Kindness, empathy and compassion towards all sentient living beings are a must. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Iceland. Africa. Aurora borealis. Dog trekking. Birthing calves and lambs. Connection with friends and animals. Eating huge fresh mangos of Nigerian trees. Drinking coffee with village chiefs. Living under two volcanoes and glaciers. Showing up at home unannounced and surprising my mother after months of being away. Touching a rainbow. Walking behind a waterfall. Hitchhiking. Marrying the love of my life. The list could go on...
Teach, Learn, Share
“Wisdom cannot be imparted. Wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else ... Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.”
― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha
“A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours. Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things-a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty.”
― John Grogan, Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst Dog
“In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.”
― Phil Collins
“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.”
― John Lubbock
“A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog.”
― Jack London
