About Me

I love to travel! I am not hosting people currently because I don't own my own place and travel frequently.

I am from Oklahoma, USA, but have moved to the Sacramento area for my job.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoying sharing travel stories with people, and Couchsurfing is a great way to connect with like-minded people all over the globe. What starts as crashing on someone's couch can really lead to a great friendship and lots of deep, interesting conversations.

Interests

I love to read! Mysteries, sci-fi, fantasy books. Pretty much anything fiction.

Cooking is a favorite pastime of mine, so you might be able to convince me to cook in return for your couch. ;)

You can often find me hiking, kayaking, playing soccer, and ultimate frisbee. Reading a good book outside with a cup of tea is my absolute guilty pleasure.

Music, Movies, and Books

After my time in Korea, I became addicted to K-pop. I listen to a variety of music, but these days it is mostly K-pop or old rock (love me some Zeppelin!).

My absolute favorite book of all time is called The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. If you haven't read it, check it out!

I love the movie Inception. My type of movie is a movie that is both bizarre and thought-provoking, hence Inception. I also enjoy the classics: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and the Harry Potter movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I was in Korea, I ate live octopus. Before you eat, the sellers caution you to chew it well or it might choke you to death by sticking to the side of your throat with the suction on its tentacles. I enjoyed it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be happy to teach anyone some basic cooking skills and recipes.

I am also learning Korean and Spanish. For Korean, it takes about ten minutes to learn the alphabet, for real. I can definitely show anyone who is curious!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to tell anyone who is curious about any of the countries I have visited or my experiences. I have been able to interact with a lot of cultures and different kinds of people, and it has taught me a lot about people and how they are so much more complicated than we see on the surface.

Countries I’ve Visited
