About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Transalp by foot 12 days in summer 2016

ABOUT ME

I'm married with my wife Sigrid and we have a stable relationship since 1978 - with all up and downs, we developed a lively quarrel culture.
I share nearly everything with my wife and we love to do so, though we are able to act independend and follow own purposes.
Our children Lea (*1985) and Aaron (*1990) moved recently and live in Berlin. Several "couches" are vacant now...
We love to travel and are curious of new and stranger!
I'm an outdoor freak. I am interested in culture and art, but my heart opens in nature! Under water, under the earth and up to summits, between rainforests and desserts, betwen the beauties of Germany and those of your country!

Well, I'm hyperactive. I'm a builder on several sites of work at the same time. Can be annoying.
I'm curious. Who are you? I want to know more about you!
I'm spontaneous. You have an idea what to do? I'll accompany or guide you - if you want.
You dont know what to do? Tell me your interests and I'll give you some ideas.

PHILOSOPHY

DIE ZWEI GEBOTE
Liebe das Leben
und denk an den Tod.
Tritt, wenn die Stunde da ist
stolz beiseite.
Einmal leben zu muessen
heisst das Gebot.
Nur einmal leben zu dürfen
lautet das Zweite.
(Erich Kaestner)

THE TWO COMMANDMENTS
Love life
and remember: there is death.
When your bell tolls,
step aside proud!
To have to live
says one commandmant.
Enjoy your unrepeatable life
says the second.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a house with rooms that were occupied by our children. Now they have moved, return as "guests" for a meeting with us or friends. So there is space and time for people like couch surfers!
We like to travel with small budget - and we have made deep, warm effects when having stayed with hosts, e.g. when working as w.w.o.o.f.ers :-)
So, as the couch surfing policy will agree, there is a win-win situation. For YOU, for US

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Few, (are we too old?), but then very fertile.
Additional best experiences as w.w.o.o.f.ers (willing workers on organic farms)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mt Connor at night, allone under the light of the full moon. Couldn't identify clearly if it's Uluru or Kata Tjuta in the distance. Realised, that Mt Connor, Uluru and Kata Tjuta are situated in one line! Heard the flapps of the bats and nothing else. Saw the lights of Curtin Spring station, where I wwoofered. Feel still happy!
