About Me
Hey, I'm Karly! I recently moved from the Prairies of Manitoba, Canada to the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Alberta! I work for a non-profit that does disaster relief and humanitarian work around the world while bringing a message of hope and love. I enjoy anything outdoors; hiking, biking, walking, swimming, snowboarding, and exploring new cities. I play guitar and write music in my spare time, and love meeting new people and hearing their stories. I also LOVE animals!! When it comes to any pet, the more the merrier!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling, and while seeing touristy spots is fun, I also want to experience normal life in the areas I visit. Meeting new people and getting to see how they live is so fascinating for me. I feel like couch surfing is the perfect way to make friends and have a deeper understanding of their culture!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: When it comes to music I'm pretty easy! I love most genres and really enjoy getting introduced to new artists.
Movies: Pride and Prejudice (2005) is my all time favorite (I even loosely based my wedding off some of the themes!), anything Disney and Marvel... and I'm not going to lie, throwing in a chick flick here and there is my jam!
Books: The Hollow Tree by Janet Lunn is my childhood favourite book. Tedd Dekker is one of my favourite authors. For genres, I really like historical fiction, action/adventure and a little bit of romance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the fall of 2017 my husband and I packed up everything we owned and moved half way across the country (Canada)! It was tough leaving family and friends but it has been an awesome adventure of meeting new people and exploring different landscapes.
Teach, Learn, Share
My husband and I enjoy playing card games and dice, and are down to teach others! I LOVE hearing peoples' stories and how they got to where they are today, and would like nothing more than to sit down and learn about other cultures, religions, and what makes people tick.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy baking and cooking, so making a meal would be something I'd love to do! I also like bringing along little gifts from Canada to show my appreciation for hosts :)
