ABOUT ME

I am active, interested in new people and willing to learn new things as often as I can!
I enjoy communicating with different people from all over the world - mostly you can find sth in common to discuss, at least travelling - unites us all, doesnt't it?

Usually when I go somewhere I like trying all the weird foods they have there - my personal top-weird what I have eaten are silkworms, duck blood dish and rotten shark (hakarl).

Scandinavia is my big love, have been there a lot and I really like it. Yes, it's cold, but it's like a winter fairy tale! And I love Scandinavian design. Also one of my favorite writers is Tove Jansson - check her books out.

I am openminded and believe that everyone has a right to live the way s/he wants. At the moment I usually travel with my boyfriend, we are neat and tidy, do not smoke, we adore cats and animals in general. He's a software engineer (java, big data - maybe these words will tell you more then they tell me, haha), likes soccer, snowboarding, board games and Korean food. We have PADI AOWD and enjoyed diving in Thailand when we lived for 2 months on Phuket.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf more than I host, because the flat we have in Saint Petersburg is tiny. But I try to meet up with travellers and help them out in Saint Petersburg. Once I met two backpackers on the street who were looking for a hostel - well, I ended up inviting them to stay with us for a couple of nights! They were very happy :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started travelling with CS in 2012 and it happened to be one of the best experiences in my life! I went to the Netherlands and it was extremely interesting to meet different people, to look how typical Dutch people live, to quit the touristic path and feel at home. In Den Bosch I attended a CS-meeting and there got acquainted with brilliant people! So, all in all, thank you, CS, that you exist :)
Update 2015: I keep travelling with CS and hosting people (hosting as a guide), I visited Norway and south of Belgium, Berlin and Maastricht. Only good experience by now! Add China and Belarus, great experience too.
Update 2017: keep travelling and meeting new people with CS, everything perfect! Enjoy the talks we have with new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bulgakov and Charms from Russian literature, Tove Janson is my favourite from Scandinavia (but also Icelandic saga's), Harry Potter. Now I usually read non-fiction to learn something new. At the moment interested in floristry and health/well-being.

Music - I listen to everything outside of Russian pop and rap music. The last concert I went to was Imagine Dragons in California.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen the Northern Lights. One of the most impressive things in my life. Especially good if you are lying in the hot stream and no one disturbs you from the sky and the stars and the universe around you. And I have eaten scorpio's and silkworms - they are just fine.
Crossed Russia from Vladivostok to Moscow by train in 2 weeks with a group of 32 foreign friends.
