About Me

I´m just back after traveling around New Zeland and Australia for 8 months. What I realised in this time: life was easier before I left. Now my head is full with so many impressions, ideas of living and the desire to visit so many more places and meet more great people that I struggle a bit with going back to my ordinary, organized life of before. So probably I need to leave again and travel a bit more to figure out what I really want.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy traveling much more when I don´t just visit all the touristic places and sights and go back to my hotel in the evening but when I can get to know the culture and the people. It is really inspiring and enriching to experience different lifestyles and ideas of a happy life.

Interests

I really like the community with other people - sharing time and work, going to concerts, hiking in the Saxony Switzerland, cooking together... If you have good friends you always find something fun to do. I also used to dance ballet and standard dance for a couple of years, probably the only kind of sport I´m surprisingly not absolutely untalented in. I like hiking and riding my bike but I enjoy it to do it in a meditative way.

When I have to be on my own I often get bored soon. I just like it when people are around me even if I do something alone. I e.g. enjoy painting, sketching and reading very much.

Music, Movies, and Books

As long as it is not all this mainstream stuff I like to listen to all kind of music. I don´t think there is bad music, you just need to find the right environment and people around you to enjoy it.

I´m normally too busy to have enough time to watch a movie at home and there are too many happy ends in too many movies. A good book is often much more realistic than a movie. I love reading thats the reason why I have hundreds of books at home - my favourite books at the moment are "The Alchemist" of Paulo Coelho and "Momo" by Michael Ende and I can also highly recommend everything written by Friedrich Dürrenmatt!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing and best things in my life was to start working and getting in touch with refugees mainly from Arabic countries two years ago. It was one of the first times I got to know an other culture so much and some of the people are my best friends now. Sometimes I can't believe how long I could live just my ordinary, organised life in Germany without realising whats really going on in the world. So maybe thats the most enriching experience in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I did ballett for a pretty long time so if you want to learn some steps... ;)
I'm a keen dancer in general also for stuff like waltza etc but I haven't practised a lot during the last two years. But maybe my feet will remember when I give it a try.
