Hey! I'm Katie. I grew up in Chicago, went to school in Iowa and then decided to switch things up a bit...so I moved to Wales! I have always had a passion for traveling and discovering new cultures. I also love to meet new people and learn about their lives and their experiences. It is through talking with other travelers that I discovered how to get a working holiday visa which landed me a year in Dublin. I currently am going on a two month hitch hiking trip to discover more of Europe before I head off and live in Amsterdam. I can be a bit shy in the beginning but I am trying to change that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend traveled around the US through couchsurfing and some of my really good friends traveled around Europe through this site. I wanted to be apart of a community that allowed people to see the world on a tight budget.

Interests

I love discovering new places and different cultures. I really like to horse ride but unfortunelty haven't had the means to do it! I like to cook, to go out, and I like watching movies.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like movies that mess with your head a bit...such as the prestige. I also recently got into movies about travel and discovering yourself such as into the wild. Love the book 1984. In terms of music I am all over the place. Love edm and house but also like pop and sometimes country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably being in Iceland and watching the volcano exploding. There was ash everywhere!
