ABOUT ME

First of all, I love to be outside, and going on adventures. Whether it's kayaking to the perfect camping spot, hiking to the top of a mountain in the snow to get fresh tracks, or just going on a mini adventure to someplace not so far away - I'm up for it. I consider myself to be rather chill overall, but I am a redhead, and we can be feisty! Hah I'm a pretty free spirit, and I love to try new things. I live by my own time schedule, and get easily caught up in things. I'm late for basically everything, and I'm okay with that. It's in my blood! I do love music, particularly music that I can dance to. overall I just want to have a good time, and meet other people who love to do the same..

PHILOSOPHY

I know that humans are doing harm to Mother Nature and all the beauty she provides every day. I try my hardest to reduce my negative impact, and clean up after those who just don't care. I believe in Karma, and that sometimes it won't affect you until much later. I also believe that your soul holds more secrets than you'll ever know, and sometimes you stumble upon something that gives you a little insight into yourself. You just have to be willing and ready to surprise yourself. Oh and of course that closed minds should come with closed mouths. In order to grow, you need to be open to all kinds of new perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I have travelled I've met so many great people from so many different places. It has given me a totally different understanding of the world we live in. I have only used Couchsurfing a couple of times when I was in Europe years ago but I'm looking forward to using it again. In my hometown of Juneau, Alaska there is a busy tourist season in the summer and I'm hoping to be able to meet some people coming through this year!

Interests

I enjoy things like deep powder snow, the moss on the trees, the pouring rain, and hot coffee. In the summer I like to go hiking as often as possible. Here in Juneau there are great trails just minutes away, and the surrounding rainforest is full of life to appreciate. In the winter it's all about the snow, and how I can tear it up! I snowboard, and tree runs are my favorite. I like to take lots of photos, especially with my film camera. I live in such a beautiful place, that it's easy to find nice views and such to capture. I love the way film picures look much more than digital ones. I really enjoy throwing pots on the wheel, and I love getting my hands dirty. Ceramics just feels so natural, because you have to go with the flow of the clay.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much of a movie person, but I do enjoy independant films. I like music I can dance to...especially little live jam sesh's. Being able to appreciate someone's musical talent firsthand can be quite nice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I see amazing things every day where I live. In fact just the other day, I was sitting on the beach at my favorite spot. THE spot. The tide was rather high, and a friend and I were just relaxing in the breeze. Straight in front of us about 300 yards from shore, we saw a Humpback Whale breach the surface and come almost completely out of the water three seperate times. I see sea lions, seals and sea otters at THE spot just about every time I'm there, but whales are always a lovely treat!
