Hi! My name is Kayla, and I've just arrived in Europe from Queensland, Australia (weather has been just a little different, so far). I'll be travelling around Europe pretty flexibly for about four weeks, to see the sights before settling down to study in the North of England for a semester. I'd be really happy to meet new people on my trip, and generally just hang out with other travellers or locals in each area, and I would love a place to stay occasionally (please feel free to visit me in beautiful Brisbane one day after I head home!)

The Pixies, Lou Reed, The The, Haim, The Arcade Fire, Cake, Karen O, The Jezabels, David Bowie John Irving, Roald Dahl, Margaret Atwood, Joan Didion, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, David Sedaris All of the movies? Like music and books, there are certainly too many to list here but I enjoy a lot of comedy and the odd action movie, as well as more obscure arthouse films, LGBT cinema etc. These days I'm more often addicted to television, I love shows like Broad City, Orphan Black, Black Mirror, Battlestar Galactica (so say we all), House of Cards, The Wire and a tonne of UK comedy.

I could try to help out with English lessons! (If you yourself aren't already fluent, which everyone in Western Europe certainly seems to be). I'm about halfway through a degree in Criminology, so while, of course, this does not make me an expert on the subject, I am always interested in talking about my studies (and also politics, psychology etc.) and I would be thrilled to discuss these things with you and learn together.

What I Can Share With Hosts

Umm, my time/mediocre company? I'd like to offer you more but I jettisoned a lot of stuff before leaving home, and all of my worldly possessions are currently in my (too heavy) backpack. I'm more than happy to help out around the house/garden or look after kids/pets/whatever though.

My Interests

Oh, everything... But mainly: Reading, music, coffee, silly trivia, too much television, adventures, and delicious food. I really like theatre and live performances, and while travelling I try to visit as many art galleries and museums as I can manage/afford.
