I am a Canadian guy who loves travel and meeting people. While my wife and I travel together most of the time, I do solo trips most years to places she does not love: hot climates, spicy food, crowds and noise. In the past few years I have gone to India, Nicaragua, Shri Lanka and Viet Nam for month long trips on my own. My travel style is close to the ground taking local transport and eating local foods. Often I stay in hostels as well as with SERVAS hosts (another travel organization I belong to).

I prefer meeting locals who offer more local information about where I am. Couchsurifing offers a more economical way to travel as well.

A child of the 60 s and 70 s, I love rock and roll. And quiet peaceful tunes too. Depends on the mood and place. My reading tastes are far ranging from crime novels to biography as well as 'good literature' (that I often get from my wife book club.
