Hi, how are you? I am Kelly! I am an Aries, and have been married to my wonderful husband Chris for 3 years, and we have no children. We currently reside in Buckley, Washington which is a small and pretty country town in the Pacific Northwest. I am a Birth Doula, Sound Bath Practitioner, and I love taking photographs of all sorts of things.

I learned about CouchSurfing around 2006 when I traveled to Iceland, but just recently decided to become a member of the community. I love to travel, and am interested in traveling more and meeting new folks from all walks of life along the way. I have so many interests and hobbies. I love music from all corners of the world, animals, spending time in nature and listening to all the forest creatures, camping, canoeing, swimming in pristine lakes and rivers (I'm a mermaid at heart), yoga, sound healing and other healing modalities, painting and other arts and crafts, photography, crocheting (would love to learn to knit), cooking and trying new foods.... sooo many other things.

I am an emotionally intelligent woman, respectful of other's spaces, belongings, and voiced boundaries. I love to cook foods of all kinds, and love to share with others in this experience. I rarely drink alcohol, but when I do, I like to enjoy a glass of wine, however it is not something I overindulge in. Though I rarely partake, I am also 420 friendly. If I ever do, again it is not something I overindulge myself with. My hope is to stay with folks who either have a similar respect for these activities, or with folks who choose not partake at all.

Some hopes that I have in joining the Couchsurfing community, are to meet new and down to Earth folks on my travels.
I also have hopes to travel with my Birthing With Sound workshop that I am currently in the process of creating, and to also share my sound healing modalities with folks that I cross paths with along the way

Música, películas y libros

I love listening to music from all over the world. Some of my favorite artists are Bjork, Abida Parveen, Trevor Hall, and most recently have been obsessed with Aurora. I tend to shy away from mainstream artists that are played every hour on the hour on the radio, and find my interests are peaked with more global sounds. I am also a sucker for some live folk music ;-)

Movies like Big Fish, Fried Green Tomatoes, and LOTR are the kinds of movies I lean towards. A couple sentimental favorites are Somewhere In Time, and On Golden Pond.

Currently reading Living Beautifully With Uncertainty and Change by Pema Chodron, and also East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

One of the hardest and most amazing things I have ever done in life was hold my grandfather's hand as he passed away... and recently held that same sacred space for my mother. She was an amazing woman and a pillar in my life, and that experience with her taught me a lot about the fragility of life, and how precious we all are, and how each moment is too, no matter what is happening, and how mundane it appears to be. It also taught me to live as presently as humanly possible.

As far as one amazingly FUN thing I have done during my travels... I once traveled to Iceland to see my ALL TIME favorite band, The Sugarcubes perform their 20 year reunion concert! That was pretty special to me, and the whole Reykjavik experience was pretty wild!

I believe we are always a student, and we are always a teacher. I feel that there is always room for each of us to grow, and we have all learned things that life has taught us that we can share with others.

In addition to offering my services to families as a Birth Doula, I hope to one day offer my Birthing With Sound workshop (still being created) to birth professionals, teaching them the many benefits of incorporating individualized vibrational sounds and vocal toning to their practice. I will also offer this workshop to expecting families who are interested in learning about this modality as well.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

As a Sound Bath Practitioner, I can offer a one on one private sound bath, breath work and meditation session. I play a beautiful set of crystal singing bowls, and incorporate vocal toning into my sound baths. I play at yoga studios, private homes, swimming pools, and forests all around the Puget Sound, and hope to find opportunities to share this modality with some of you in your city on my journey.
