I am an Upstate NY native, Registered Nurse, kitty momma, and married to my best friend, Josh❤️ We live in Schenectady, NY, near Albany, Saratoga, the Adirondacks and Catskills. We have one roommate who also happens to be my best friend from college.

I graduated nursing school four year ago, worked in the Operating Room for 3.5 years and now I work as an acute rehabilitation nurse. I LOVE my job. My husband is in school and our roommate just graduated with her Masters. We share a love for being active and soaking up every ounce of life we are given.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To see the world like a local would. I want to know why people chose to live where they do. What they've fallen in love with and what they wish would change. I want to see the world through other people's eyes because I think that's the part of travel that actually changes us.

Interests

I'm addicted to hiking and have climbed all 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks. I believe being active should also be fun so I dabble in yoga, running, ultimate frisbee, rock climbing etc. I love letter writing and think it's a lost art. I adore plants and gardening and currently am using pots to grow veggies since we don’t have a yard.

I would much rather be out sharing experiences with people than watching tv or movies so there won't be a favorite movie section for me on here. Life is really precious and short and I don't want to waste it sitting down.

I lived in Peru for a summer with my best friend (now roommate) and a piece of my heart still belongs there

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make an amazing batch of cookies! I've learned quite a bit about the Adirondacks and hiking through my climbing up there so if you have interest in hiking I can point you in the right direction:) Other than that I'm still figuring this life thing out so I'd love to share that learning process with others in the same boat.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Guests: Female guests only please! We've got a spacious apartment with a private guest room or plenty of couches to choose from if preferred. We've also both lived in this area for most of our lives so far so we can show you why we have fallen in love with where we're at!
