Sean and I are now proud home owners in the small town of Flatonia. Flatonia is a 1300 population small town where Sean grew up. We live on roughly 50 acres of family land right outside the city limit. We love it here in the county, our view is priceless, we can shoot guns in our backyard, and we have 150 acres across the street for fishing. I work in town as the preK-5th grade special Ed teacher, and Sean's an electrician at his family's company. There's always festivals, rodeos, backroading and river floating that occupies our weekends. We're laid back and pretty simple, just enjoy our beer, football and good conversation. Flatonia is a central town close to many Texas big cities. San Antonio- 1hr 30, Austin-1hr 15, and Houston 1 hr 30 min, so it's a great stop to break up a long drive. We have a guest bedroom with a queen bed, a living room couch that pulls out to a bed, and an office that has room for our queen air mattress.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's nice to bring back the foundation of trusting complete strangers. In a world full of some evil people, it's a breath of fresh air that there's a community out there that allows people to come together from different cultures, hometowns, and even countries and learn about each other.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music. Country, blues, jazz, zydeco, oldies, they all sound good to me. As far as books, I used to read a book a week at the gym, I'm a runner and am now into listening to books while a run! We have Netflix... So we are movie/tv show junkies.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We may not have cool restaurants, ample amount of night life, and big attractions, but we're a small town that showcases some simple Texas smalltown living. We have a keg in our dining room, a comfy guest bed, and my amazing husband who can grill Anything.
