About Me

Lover of life and a freedom researcher. Full of life and love to myself, others and this world. Would love to live in a constant sense of childlike wonder about this world. Which is something I am working on, by also removing what is not me! :)

Others would describe me as genuine, honest, kind, compassionate and a social being. I would myself describe me as genuine, honest, kind, compassionate and a social butterfly. This because I am a social introvert who loves to have meaningful one-on-one conversations.

I am a person who is very comfortable being by myself. Further more, I am prestigeless and rarely competes with others, which means that people I meet can feel relaxed around me and just be themselves.

My own personality type is INFP which is described as "The Mediator". One of the traits is to always look for the good in even the worst situations, another one is the search for understanding. Such as understanding for myself, people around me, cultures and the world. Both of these traits have come in useful as a travel companion! =)

This is a quote that has guided me since I was seven-years-old:
"Treat others the same way you want to be treated."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are a few reasons for me being here.

CURIOSITY
About different people and places around the world. For getting a more local and pure experience.

CREATING
New memories and connections.

SHARING
Of stories and hospitality but also of previous and new experiences.

Interests

QUALITY – NOT QUANTITY

That is my motto and the reason for why I have taken a break from digital photography. I began with photography to record memories that I could look back on, but somewhere along the way the quantity became too great.

So now I mostly shoot with my old Polaroid cameras, also in an attempt to find the previous joy of capturing my own memories! To create something more meaningful. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One?! They are too many to list! =)

1. The Battle for Myself
Stood up to myself and broke up with an ex who had manipulated me for way too long. After that I sold almost everything I owned and went to live and work in Australia for 18 months.

2. Wearing a Kilt
After graduation from college at the age of 19, I left Sweden and lived alone in Scotland for a whole summer. This is where I learned to live. Had almost never cooked or cared for myself in that way and I knew nothing about having a proper job. Got a job as a dishwasher and was happy for it! Could afford a kilt after a while.

3. Living Close to Mountains
The autumn of 2012 I moved to Austria where I did an exchange semester. This would turn out to be one of the best experiences in my life! Lived in a student dormitory with the mountains as the view from my window. The friends I made here are just incredible and I am really so grateful for them.

4. Dream of Buddhist Monastery
In 2014 I experienced something that I had been dreaming about for years – to live in a Buddhist Monastery in Nepal. This is by far one of the best decisions of my life, much because of the people I met in there. But also because of the peace and quiet that I felt in my heart.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you plenty of things! Such as repairing an old Volkswagen Beetle, how to talk Swedish, cook meatballs and the basics (and more) of photography. Though I am not a professional chef, I can still cook and bake for or with you. =)
