About Me
Hi! I am currently traveling around the world after working in fine dining for the past few years. My dream has always been to live in a different country so am exploring my possibilities. My background has been pretty interesting! I was born in Malaysia, raised in Singapore and Texas, and have spent the past few years in Cali. I believe in eating well and am hoping to learn more about other cuisines and cultures. I have been pretty fortunate to meet alot of great people around the world and am looking forward to making new relationships.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I went to UCLA, my roommate would invite couch surfers to stay with us in our simple apartment. (The couch surfing account for my apartment was under his name so I don't have alot of references.) Back then, we had 5 guys in 2 rooms. One guy lived in literally a closet which, you can imagine, leads to many closet jokes. Despite our meager accommodations, our guests were always very easy going and happy to be with locals. We always had a great time sharing stories and cultures, making the best with what we had. I think it really is the people that can make a place special!
Interests
I love going to markets and exploring different ingredients. I mean how amazing is it that so much of our living world is edible and extremely diverse. A recent discovery in Southeast Asia I am enjoying is the sweetsop or sugar-apple.
Other hobbies are rock-climbing and ultimate frisbee! Both communities are very similar in that the people are real chill and extremely inviting. I also particularly love coffee, bread, beer, and biking.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can help cook and clean! In general, I'm pretty open to manual labor! Alas, dish washing is very zen for me. I would like to learn more about wood working.
I used to do C-programming and am a little rusty. I would like to learn how to program apps and other current technologies. I feel like I'm getting behind in the times after spending 2 years in a metal box.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a good guest, easy-going and responsive! I like to keep clean and organized. If you want to have a long-term friend and travel buddy, let's get together and make it happen!
