Overview
About Me
Very rural homesteader. Pattern Language builder. Answering the big questions with wood.
Note: My home is way out there. There is no public transportation for miles around. You can get here by bike or car. Or on foot if you like to hitchhike.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My homestead is full of people all the time anyway, so why not add couchsurfers? I trade a night in the yurt for stories. Do you have good ones?
I'm starting to dream about giving the cows enough food to last for a month, and then hitting the open road.
Interests
(Almost) anything Real, Genuine, or Authentic
- dining
- homesteading
- cycling
- business
Music, Movies, and Books
The best food is most often the food I raise myself. Much of this is meat--the vegetarian and vegan options here are somewhat limited.
I am a fan of anyone who can make their own music with their body or instrument.
Best shows: watching the barn spiders catch flies in the summer on the porch.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Carved a home and a business out of fifty acres of the forest.
Teach, Learn, Share
I build yurts at home. Then deliver and raise them. I strongly believe that every county in every state needs it's own builder of durable warm yurts or other appropriate structure. Watch and learn a thing or two if you like.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Homegrown food.
A spare bed (though the couch right by the woodstove is very nice in winter).
A bed in the yurt in the summer (or winter, if you want to chop firewood in exchange for using it)
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Japan
