About Me
Hey y’all! I’m a college student majoring in Public Relations and Merchandising from Mississippi and I’m coming to California to serve at Oak Bridge, a Young Life Camp in July! I googled and it appears to be very close to San Diego. After I finish serving at camp, I think it would be so much fun to “couchsurf” for a few days before I fly back to MS. I don’t think I’m too much of a traditional Southerner, I’m very laid-back and open minded! I’d love to see a bit of California through the eyes of a local since I have never been and I’d be interested in living there one day! I’m looking for a safe and reliable female host since this is all very new to me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
You might be able to tell from the photos I’ve shared — I have a bad case of the travel bug! I try to find opportunities to travel as much and as often as I can! However, that isn’t always easy as a broke and busy college student! A friend told me to check out couchsurfing and even though it’s a bit out of my comfort zone, it seems like a fantastic idea!
Interests
For starters, I am a very happy-go-lucky girl and super talkative! Definitely a people-person even though I sometimes have trouble being outgoing. I have always loved fashion, writing, and other creative outlets. I try to keep myself as updated on news and politics as possible because I’d really like to help change the world for the better and I think educating myself is the best way to do that! I love traveling the world and seeing all the beauty and wonder it has to offer so sustainability and being environmentally conscious is important to me. I am a nondenominational Christian and my call to serve is actually what is bringing me to my next destination but I still am very open-minded and appreciate all viewpoints and spiritualities! My parents own a restaraunt so I’ve always had an appreciation for cooking and love food!

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favorite artists are Chance the Rapper, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, Death Cab for Cutie, Frank Ocean, Florence + the Machine, Van Morrison, Rihanna... I could go on but the point is I’m a bit all over the place!
My favorite tv show of all time is The Office! My favorite movie is probably Silver Linings Playbook or Napoleon Dynamite. I’ve read more books and series than I could possibly list, mostly YA, but my favorite is The Secret Life of Bees.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As far as travels go, I’d say backpacking the Rocky Mountains for a week despite being super out of my element! In my personal life, I’m most proud of my volunteer work. I love volunteering at my local animal shelter, as well as, supporting Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have many, many interests and know lots of random information about things that have caught my interest through the years! One of my fun facts is I LOVE bees and would be thrilled to meet anyone who shared that interest!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking but never really get the chance to now that I’m in college so I wouldn’t say I’m an exceptionally talent cook but I would love to cook with my hosts! I’ve read and learned lots of random things and had many creative outlets from cross-stitch to graphic design!
