Hi there!

My name is Kevin from Seattle, but currently reside in Portland, OR. I like going walks and good conversations accompanied by a glass of wine or whiskey. I am someone who enjoys the outdoors, traveling (domestically and internationally) and striving to live more mindfully.

Along with being terrible at describing myself to make me seem authentic, I reciprocate well with sarcasm and dry humor. Given the opportunity, I'm always ready for a good pun.

I'm still rather new with Couchsurfing, but the 3 occasions I've participated have been terrific; meeting new and interesting people.

I Couchsurf because I believe it is the most authentic way to experience your new surroundings. Meeting locals and building new friendships is the foundation of any true traveling experience. Hopefully when I am more settled, I will have the opportunity to host travelers myself and offer the same hospitality I have been shown thus far.

I quit my job several years ago as engineer because I realized working 8-5, Monday thru Friday wasn't making me happy or life fulfilling. That resignation has lead me to so many firsts including:
- My first solo road trip
- My first backpacking trip across Europe
- My first time hitch hiking
- My first couchsurfing experience (which was awesome!)
- My first cross country road trip

With my running background, I've been able to coach some of my friends into finishing their first 5Ks and half marathons. So I can offer you some good running tips in that regards or just a good cheerleader.
