Overview
About Me
A little about me, i'm a California kid born and raised. Lived in San Jose, CA my whole life until I moved to San Diego to go to school at UCSD. A fun and easy going/adaptable guy. Love to eat, sleep, and enjoy music on occasion as well as dancing. Food lovers unite.
Took a big leap with my life by being a volunteer I am now. Currently I am a Peace Corps Volunteer placed in Mozambique Africa where I am currently teaching chemistry to 8th graders and 10th graders. So far I have been here a year, living alone in a house but lucky to have a fellow American mate close by. I absolutely love it here but there are often days where I just want to take off and leave, but that is all part of the job isn't it? Sticking it out til the end as it is and will be the "hardest job I will ever love." I am also learning and somewhat "fluent" in Portuguese as I teach in Portuguese. I know enough to have a conversation and to survive... and then some. Interested in picking up another language as I travel, not to be fluent but to impress the locals.
Overall, i'm an adaptable guy, being that I can survive quite well with very little. I'm not much of a planner and like to do things on the fly, random and adventurous things. So if you have suggestions to go somewhere or do something, you can guarantee that I would do it. Hoping to explore the world we live in, in this lifetime.
I'm a friendly guy so if there is anything else that you may want to know, feel free to send me a message. Open to host anyone who wants to see Mozambique.
Also i'm in Mecanhelas, province of Niassa. It's the very top left province of Mozambique.
HEADS UP! I will be out of Mozambique and back in the states starting January!
As of 12/7/17, I am out of the country
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Living in Africa for a year has taught me the best experience is to immerse yourself at the local level rather than to go to your typical touristy location. You can respect and learn to love a country or a culture more but putting yourself in the shoes of a local as they can show you their world through their eyes. Through CouchSurfing, I feel like I can experience this rather than to go through the tourist point of view kind of thing.
Another is to meet like minded travelers to learn from their experiences. I have not been around much to have stories but I am all ears and all for suggestions in future traveling opportunities.
Though this is my first time Couchsurfing, I hope to be treated well and to treat others well! As we say in Mozambique, Estamos Juntos! We are together! Open to host here in Mozambique since I hardly get visitors.
Interests
I LOVE FOOD. All types, all kind, and won't discriminate. I open open to try everything at least once. I enjoy my occasional movies and can never go wrong with music. I enjoy drawing and doodling on occasions and I love having new experience, big or small. Also enjoy meeting new people and creating new friendship.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy hip hop, RnB, EDM, Pop... almost anything you can find on the radio. Love all movies besides comedy horror and I don't read much so I can't say much about reading. Though I plan on picking up the habit real soon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sky diving and deciding to spend 2 years in Africa by myself
Teach, Learn, Share
I am all for culture. I enjoy learning how and why people dress a certain way, how people get their food, what they eat, and what their daily life schedule is like. I like to experience what others experience on a daily basis.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Language, food, friendship, dancing, adventure, courtesy, respect, amazement, surprises, and a great time.
Travel wise, I am a great guest. I would offer to pay for food or help out in anyway as the lodging is free. I will guarantee that your place will be cleaner than it was when I first got there by the time I leave. Also, if I do stay at your place, do let me know what I can bring as an appreciation gift! My moral compass hates freeloading so anything I can do to show my appreciation will be done. I am quite an independent person but will do occasionally ask for pointers and guidance if needed. Other than that, I won't disturb you in anyway unless you don't mind it.
Also, i'm not much of a drinker, which makes me more than happy to buy you a drink or two to drink on my behalf ;)
