About Me

Words to live by

If you are living life without give an "f" you are only living a li[]e.

----------------------------------------------------

Hey! The name is Kevin. I really love traveling and meeting new people. Adventure is out there, and so many possibilities to be met. I am a fourth year student at UCLA , class of 2016. With the end of a chapter, I just want to go out and live free to explore, learn, and change for the better.

Born in raised in Los Angeles, California, I think it's time to go out and do some exploring. If i were to describe myself in two words, it would be...stupidly optimistic. And to clarify...I have no idea what that means. :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Long story short, a friend introduced me to this community, and immediately I got hooked onto the idea that people could meet, learn, and go on adventure with new people. I love to travel and experience new cultures. I think Couchsurfing could do that for me.

So many stories to be told, so many things to experience, so many adventures to find. Man...the limit truly does not exist.

Interests

Music:
Indie, EDM (house, trap, trance, progressive), Rock, hip-hop, classical, instrumental piano music. I love playing the piano --> as well as 6 other instruments.

Food:
Oh man, the list can go on forever! I am in love with Vietnamese food, I can cook almost any type of Vietnamese cuisine. If we meet, be sure to have an asian market around cause...I'm ready to cook. Aside from that, I love Mexican, Italian, Indian, and spicy foods! I would love to try authentic Mediterranean, Brazilian, and Peruvian foods. But, food is food! I love it all. Willing to try anything.

Traveling:
I have had the privilege of traveling to so many places. Going out of the country and exploring is definitely something i would go and check out always.

Hiking
Very avid hiker. Always down to put on the boots and go outside. Anything with heavy terrain or water is always exciting!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Grew up listening to classical music. Bach and Chopin were big influences in my life. Mozart has began to get back into the realm of my existence. I love listening to really upbeat music. But, I can tune it down to some relaxing sounds.

Movies:
Love watching movies. Favorite movies would include My Sister's Keeper. Shawshank Redemption, The Terminal, Saving Private Ryan, The Winnie the Pooh Movie, Harry Potter Series, The Hurt Locker, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Conjuring, The Littler Mermaid, The King's Speech, and so much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh man, this is a tough one.

One amazing thing that I've done would have to be convincing my grandpa that he wasn't too old to do great things.

My grandpa is 84 years old and with his old age, he kept telling me he was going to pass away and just be old and fade away. I kept telling him every weekend that we could go outside, do arts and crafts, or start reading books again. With more encouragement, my grandpa gaved in to my constant nagging to do something and after a couple of weeks, he found a new passion: origami.

I don't know why I found this to be something amazing i've done, but it is. I was just happy that my grandpa got to experience something new rather than wait for something inevitable that will happen to all of us in the end.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach what you had always wanted to learn

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a pretty witty person if I do say so myself.

What i can share? To be honest, with every host comes a new story and excitement. I don't have something physical to share. But, I can share stories, company, fun, joy, face-palm moments, food, humor, and curiosity.

There is so much to share that just writing it down does not do it justice. I can just simply say that meeting new people is a way to share a new friendship.
