About Me

Hello! my name is Kevin, I'm 23 years old. My passion is to experience new cultures from around the globe and spend time with different people to try and understand multiple perspectives. I'm a workplace Strategist and have the opportunity to apply physical design with Organizational Behavior. I grew up in Queens, New York City with many ethnicities, races, and cultures outside my window.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an effective community for people that like to travel, see new things, meet new people, and most importantly for them to have those experiences as a local. I want to see new places from the perspective of a local, and not see the boring or touristy parts of cities, but get a taste of what living in a location will be like. I like to meet new people, and help others who aspire to travel and do the same.

Interests

I am a poet. I express my emotion and art through poetry and feel accomplished through writing. I also love movies by the directors Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson. I really enjoy listening to music (rock and old school rap) especially on vinyl.

Music, Movies, and Books

MY favorite bands are the Killers, the Arctic Monkeys, the Police, the White Stripes, and the Mamas and Papas. I like movies such as Contempt (Les Mempris), Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, many Quentin Tarantino films, and Forest Gump.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the opportunity to be published in the New York Times, but turned it down because I didn't agree to how my story would be portrayed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I worked in an NGO serving children from (favelas) underprivelaged families in Marilia, Brazil last summer. Most of the children were 7-14 years old and none of them new English. My colleague and I were able to create games, arm wrestle, and play football with them; we gave them the opportunity to understand that they can get out of their economic circumstances and that there are opportunities for them to succeed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share funny stories, poetry, a friendly smile, and my cultural background as a Georgian-Israeli from NEw York City. I can also share with them the opportunity to come visit me in nyc.
