About Me

Hello,
Im originally from the city of Melbourne however recently started a new position in Hervey Bay Queensland .
I apologise too if there is any confusion about my location. I don't seem to be able to get much help from 'couch surfing ' organisation about this. Apparently , despite editing my profile my old address of 'Tennant Creek' in the Northern Territory is still mentioned. PLEASE note that I am in Queensland.
I have had the privilege of lots of travel in the past and can think of nothing better then continuous travel - however , need to have work to fund this travel. Im happy to offer accommodation (short term) for fellow travellers. I think its worth saying that Im not racist, homophobic or intolerant and feel very comfortable accepting people of different cultures.
For me travel has and is about experiencing different environments and cultures - I have really felt enriched by the generosity of people I have met and remain in contact with.
In the house I'm pretty relaxed but I do appreciate not living in chaos, having a clean environment and generally being tidy. Love cooking and enjoy intelligent conversation over a good glass of wine.
As I said , I am pretty relaxed but please note that Im involved in couch surfing because I think the world is a relatively small place and being hospitable is a good thing. Learning and sharing ideas , experiences and the love of travel is great. I offer accommodation to people who are of a similar mind. Please be very clear that I'm not a cheap hotel to just crash and use.
Please feel free to check if I have space available. Come with a generosity of spirit - that could include having a good laugh, sharing / cooking a great meal, conversations about travel over a good glass of wine etc etc

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I consider the world to be a relatively small place and I have found that people share much more in common as opposed to 'differences'. I have been appreciative of the generosity that so many people have extended to me when I have been travelling. I hope that in some way I can 'give some of this hospitality back'.

Interests

Generally enjoy reading, travel as I said earlier, walking , cooking, music and good wine .

Music, Movies, and Books

So varied , practically anything other than science fiction. Love autobiographies - often involves politics and history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing ???... well Im not sure about that. For me two highlights come to mind immediately. Firstly, spent some time in a great village in India and returned to the same village for a wedding . An Indian wedding - truly 'epic' production.
Second , staying in a small remote African village in Zambia - never wanted to leave.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will continue to treasure the opportunities that travel has provided. I have been moved by the kindness and the patience people have extended to me. Im grateful to have been taught how to see there are many different perspectives on offer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories of travel, good humour and big laughs, good cooking (and wine) and a generosity of spirit. I guess there are lots of things but something that I'm very committed to is continued contacts that I have made when working as a volunteer in small NGO's operating on very meagre funding. I support financial efforts that enhance self reliance.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Cambodia, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Malaysia, Nepal, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Viet Nam, Zambia
