About Me
Hi all,
My name is Kieren, but you can all call me Kizz.
I'm a very friendly, fun guy who is always up for a laugh, and puts humour above most things.
I'm a Firefighter based in the UK with a big case of wanderlust.
One of the perks of the job is that I get more days off than your average 9-5er. This allows me to follow my passion of travelling. No. 1 on my bucket list is to visit every continent on the planet (yes including Antarctica) So far its 4 down, 3 to go!
I've always been a big adrenaline junkie so I spent most of my growing years trying my skills out at a wide range of extreme sports - and I use the term "skills" very, very loosely. If it's something that will make my pulse race, I'm usually the first to sign up for it (except bungee jumping, I just can't even with that).
I'm big into my band music and love going to gigs. My favourite Genres are Alternative, Indietronica, Rock etc. I even went to Uni and got a degree in music technology.
I'm a huge videogame geek. From oldskool retro, to the latest consoles I love all of it. I enjoy cooking and can cook a mean Thai curry or Mexican dish.
My favourite place in the world has to be Asia. From the quiet friendly villages of Vietnam, to the white-sand beaches of Thailand, to the bustling Metropolis of Tokyo in Japan. I fell in love with all of these places!
As far as couchsurfing goes, I'm a very houseproud person, and I would treat your place as if it were my own (that's a good thing - trust me :-p) but If that still hasn't put your mind at ease, I am always up for a friendly chat :-).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having the travel bug has its ups and downs, with one of the downs being that your friends cant always afford to join you or get the time off to go with you on your adventures. Meaning sometimes you have to go it alone, making new friends along the way. The reason I am couchsurfing is to be able to interact with more people and make new friends with fellow couchsurfers along my journey.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music wise, I have a pretty wide range, i love my rock, alternative and indie band music, and most similar genres to that, I also like electronica, Dub and chill out too, I'm pretty easy.
My favourite movies are probably (in no particular order) The Crow, Donnie Darko, 28 Days Later, John Carpenters The Thing, and Old Boy. I love my world cinema and any decent horror movies.
I'll read most comic books that exist with antihero ones such as Deadpool, The Punisher and Venom being my favourite, I also like my zombie novels like Monster island/nation/planet. and the Morningstar strain trilogy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cant pick one, but my top ones would be either swimming with whale sharks in Thailand, biking across the whole of Vietnam with a chicken and duck that we saved from the meat market and gave them their freedom , or visiting the DPRK (North Korea)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not a bad cook, and i make pretty decent mexican, Thai and steak dishes, which I'm happy to make. I love cooking!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to think I'm a very charitable guy, I'm pretty shit when it comes to telling stories, but I'm always down for buying beers and snacks and sharing the love around. If you need help getting past a boss on a videogame I'm pretty good at that too :-p other than that, fun, laughs and a party trick or two.
