About Me

CURRENT MISSION

be um true to myself and those around me

ABOUT ME

Hello,
I am 42, sorry 41, and I work in a lovely place for people with special needs in Thomastown, Co.Kilkenny. So I work as a day carer in the maintenance, gardening leg of the set up here. I also paint, portraits and use wax, wax crayons, oil paint etc. I am trying to be more expressive of my subconscious, something I have become aware of in recent art therapy training.I also work as an architect/designer and build what I design for people. The work is as green as I can make out, but of course there is always room for improvement. Life has been very good to me, thankyou life.

PHILOSOPHY

Well, I live firstly to make a difference to myself and other peoples lives, in that I hope and wish that the difference I make if any brings with it joy and happiness. I don't really have a philosophy. Only that destiny is to be followed even if it seems the most illogical thing, I beleive you continue to accentuate the positive and elliminate the negetive, and that way bring what may first appear to be a negetive into positive light. having said that A negetive can be highly illuminating, hard work though it may be, one certainly doesn't take life for granted afterwards.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only just joined and am unable to fathom at this early stage the depth of a cyber community can go to. In my mind the world is about meaningful connections between people, with due respect to nature and if this community facilitates these meetings then lo and behold it's a grand thing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

never surfed an unknown break,(surfing term)Goofy footed. One day, which happened to be the day of the patron saint of beggars, unbeknown to me, I was caught short of a place to stay in Nailsworth, England. I had a job interview the next day, and had very little money to spend on anything. I went to the local church and asked if anyone who help me out. A lovely man took me under his wing, home to his lovely belgian wife and they treated with love and respect as if i were one of their family. A very moving and beautiful experience that touched me deeply I suppose.

Music, is varied and very important to me

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went snorkelling off the edge of a coral atol called wuvulu, 100km north of the papua newguinean coast. The ocean drops away to a depth of 2000ft and is very dark blue. The water is literally teeming with life, the colours and shapes of the fish are astounding, and my heart was thumping as I was only seven and there were also big pelagic fish about.
