About Me

Hello, my name is Kirsten Maas and I'm 22 years old (friends or actually everyone calls me Kiki and yes: I love you all :-D)
I came to Canada in April 2018 to start my adventure, with the Working Holiday Visa.
The purpose of my time in Canada is to study the language through the experience of working and living here. I thrive on meeting new people and experiencing new things.
Since I've been here, I have been working in a restaurant in Downtown Vancouver to practice my English. In Germany I also worked in a bar for a long time, waitressing, front of house and also a little bit in the kitchen preparing breakfasts.
I‘m a trained Eventmanager and worked at a radio station for 3 years before I came to Canada.
In my free time I like to do some sports or meet my friends. Newly I love to travel to find as much as possible beautiful places and new adventures. In my hometown I grow up in a big family - there's always something to do together - but only if I have eaten half a ton of food and slept for a full 15 hours :-D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been staying in backpackers and traveling with friends in a camper van, which has been a real eye-opener, but now I am hoping to experience life with Canadian people and learn more about the culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to spend time hearing music or audio books.
The kind of music depends on my mood - I could thrill myself for almost everything.

Also I prefer to watch series instead of whole movies. Currently I'm watching "friends"... finally. I waited until I understand they speaking in English.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm afraid of heights, definitely! Normally I can't move when it get to high - I have to lay down haha

But one day (it was really hot) I jumped from a bridge into a river!! Maybe it doesn't mean that much for you, but for me it was amazing: a lot of fun but also really scary.

I love to challenge myself in every way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook - no I'm just joking... I can't cook really good, but I love to eat. So I need to improvise in the kitchen.

Of course I could bring you the german language any closer, with all its grammar and articles.

Also a friend shows me how to make friendship bracelets, I could share this talent with you. I promise, you'll safe a lot of money for birthday presents :-D
