About Me
Hi all, I'm Kirsten. As with anyone, there are many facets to my personality. I'm a friend, a daughter, a wife, a mom (to two cute dogs), and a science teacher. I prefer a laid back, slow paced lifestyle punctuated by exciting hijinks. My idea of the perfect day involves being out in a beautiful landscape doing yoga, kayaking, hiking, or just lounging around with a drink in my hand. I'm a silly girl who cries at movies, plays games, and loves cartoons. I'm usually down for anything you want to do (as long as it ends with giggling over drinks). I love animals, food, and people who do good deeds.
I also want to write something about my husband because, if you meet me, he will no doubt be by my side. Nik is always the funny one in any group and the life of the party. He loves to dance and sing but has little opportunity to do so outside of the house. He's an avid learner, always watching something educational on youtube. He prefers high activity but can lazily lounge around with the best of them (this is admittedly what we do most of the time). He loves solving puzzles and often plays games with strategy. He's a good guy with a heart of gold.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband and I have been traveling since we were babies but have had difficulty as adults finding the time and resources. Finally, we are in a place in our lives where that has changed and we want to go everywhere and see everything.
We joined the couchsurfing community to 1) meet new people, 2) travel without breaking the bank, and 3) helps others do the same.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I've been listening to the Baby Driver soundtrack a lot recently. It's a brilliant selection of blues, rock, jazz, and pop. A lot of the albums I've purchased last five years have been soundtracks from movies, shows, games, or plays. I think it's because soundtracks give me the variety I crave and save me the time of making a mixed tape. Variety is the spice of life.
Movies: My favorite movie of all time is Dersu Uzala. But, for the sake of keeping things contemporary, my favorite recent movies (that came out this year) are probably Thor: Ragnarok and The Shape of Water. I also enjoy a good B movie.
Books: My favorite book of all time is probably Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel. Although, it's a tough choice. Currently, I'm reading the Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
