Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Up until recently, a great amount of my travels were with my family around the Eastern coast of the US. My wife has been a couchsurfer for years, and I help her host at her house, as I live there half of the time. Now, since we have the space, we try to host people whenever we can. Now I hope to travel more myself.

Interests

I love the outdoors. I like to hike, camp and most certainly fish. Snowboard whenever I can scrape up the money and time. I like video games, and mostly prefer computer games rather than console. I enjoy drinking with friends, and would almost always prefer staying in with a group of friends rather than going out clubbing, bar hopping, or pub crawling. I love live performances like plays & comedy shows, but I mostly only attend when the price is low. I also love seeing movies at the cinema.
I am an avid gardener and have set up a lovely garden in our back yard. If you come visit during the growing season i would be more than happy to share some of my tomatoes with you.
I am pretty interested in computer hardware and love when other people can talk shop with me about it and help fill in the gaps in my knowledge!

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, interestingly enough, the music I listen too isn't music at all. Recently I have been listening to more and more audiobooks and podcasts. Comedy specials are also something i enjoy listening to, but after a while i feel like it is hard to find a good one.
I'm a fiction lover, especially fantasy like Harry Potter, when it comes to books, movies, and video games.
If you have a movie that you feel everyone must see, tell me about it, because I feel like i miss a lot of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running along the shore on the coast of Maine at sunrise, with a fishing rod in hand, chasing schools of fish boiling at the surface of the water. Being the first to snowboard down a trail that had just been covered with fresh snow the previous night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share knowledge of organic chemistry, I can discuss MMORPGs, I can help someone practice conversing from Russian to English or from English to Russian, and I can definitely teach someone how to fish. I know a little about everything, and am really good at regurgitating fact and interesting tidbits from shows and podcasts i have heard. I also appreciate any insight into gardening, computer hardware, DIY projects, modifications to thing, really anything that involves using your hands !
