About Me

CURRENT MISSION

There's a lot of terrain out there we've yet to explore. We want to dive into foreign cultures, eat delicious food, and hear wonderful stories from new faces!

ABOUT ME

"I'm in love with cities I've never been to and people I've never met"
Runners, travelers, photographers, rock climbers, waterfall rapellers, campers, hikers, outdoorsy, adventure seekers. We love learning about others and their "why" to live.

PHILOSOPHY

Bryce: I'll try anything once... Maybe twice.

Kristen: I was put here on earth to learn, to love, and to offer hope. "The person you are today is not dictated by yesterday or tomorrow. Be you now." "What screws us up most in life is the picture in our head of how it is supposed to be." "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." "You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him." "I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're new so we've yet to host. However, when home we would love to offer up a couch, or show someone the sights.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Looking for our first couch surfing excursion this December 2012 in Sydney

Interests

We seek beautiful scenery and wonderful views by means of hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, zip lining, and snow shoeing. We love to discover new music, mesh into new cultures, and admire the uniqueness of human interactions. I'm ever in awe of the different soils, sands, and rock formations I've yet to touch/see.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My husband and I visited Zion National Park, UT a couple of years back. The red rocks are gorgeous and the views expansive. While there we hiked the 5 mile Angel's Landing Trail. The trail is well maintained, however the last leg of the trail is across a narrow sandstone ridge that offers anchored support chains to help you reach the end. A fear of heights crept into my life with age, but I wasn't about to let that narrow ridge keep me from the best view of the hike! The risk was worth the end prize! At the end of the ridge was a panoramic view of Zion. I was blown away by the beauty of it all.

For our honeymoon my husband and I stayed in a few bed and breakfasts near the Arenal volcano in Costa Rica. One of the excursions we enjoyed was a mountaineering trip which allowed us the opportunity to rappel down multiple waterfalls. After a few hours of trekking through the jungle we came upon the last and most impressive waterfall. There we stood, 200 feet up in the air all the while butterflies in our stomachs holding us back from the edge. Once secured in the harness it was time to jump. This was an exhilarating few seconds of free fall toward the forest floor chasing the water to the bottom.
