About Me

My Daddy told me, lookin back
The best friend you'll have is a railroad track.

Hey, I am Kristina. In fact, I don't want to tell much about my lifestyle and thoughts as if you and I are here, it means that we are both fans of travelling and we are on the same wavelength.

I enjoy hitch-hiking as a way to meet new people and learn a lot of strange and wonderful things which you have never known earlier. I like getting to know about lifestyle of different cultures and their habits step by step, so for me the most essential part of couchsurfung is exchange of experience and distruction of cultural stereotypes.

Telling some words about my character, I don't like waiting a lot of time and I prefer realizing my plans immediately. I'am not an adherent of quite and home life, and it's a bit hard for me to live in one place for long time without changes ( but I have to because of my studying). I try to be open-hearted person who prefers meeting people without any difficulties and rules. Life can be much more enjoyable, if you know a secret of your peace. Right now I am searching for people, things, places, which make me pleased and calm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People do different places memorable.
They give you emotions that you have never forgotten and also they share with you their usual life. You see how people live in this place, real life. Some kind of revelation. And I really appreciate when people allow you to be a part of their life.

And not a word about saving of money and so on. It's also can be true but it's not so important as many people think. (At least for me, maybe I'am a bit romantic)

Interests

The things that really grab my attention are:
1) I am interested in Albanian and Greek culture. And I try to learn these languages especially now I dive into Greek as I admire poetry of Constantine P. Cavafy.
2) I used to do mountainering, now I haven't got chance to do it often in St.Petersburg, but during my trips I usually find peaceful and nice places where I can relax and be on the nature.
3) Reading is one of my favourite things to do and I have various literature tastes. My favourite writer is Haruki Murakami.
4) I'am keen on sending postcards and getting them. I have a small collection of cards (around 60).
5) My passion is sheep, it's my favourite animal and I can't explain my love to them, but I also collect different things with images of sheep :3
