About Me

My husband and I love living a small-town life and currently live in a town of less than 900 full-time residents. We have been married just about 2 years now, and together we have 8 children. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and believe and follow the precepts taught by Jesus Christ. I love to travel and hope to do more of it now that we are almost empty-nesters. We took a 3-week trip October/November this year and it was at one of the airBnBs as which we were staying where I learned about couch surfing and thought it sounded like a fun way to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about this at an AirBnB host's home this fall and it intrigued me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE The Cure, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Loretta Lynn, Don Williams and a bunch of genres in between. I dont listen to a lot of music, however, because I like to read or listen to podcasts and other more productive and educational material. Same with movies, although I do like Les Mis, Count of Monte Cristo, Pride and Prejudice etc... and books, if it is a classic or a book that has been around for good reason for many years, I'll give it a try and most likely will enjoy it. Louis L'Amour has been a favorite of mine since I was in middle school. I enjoy books that require a little bit of work and effort on the readers part, books that impart wisdom and have value.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For 15 years I raised three daughters on my own after a divorce. They were 2, 1, and a newborn and looking back at how I did it and that I did do it, that is pretty amazing to me! We chose the home education route through HS and that, too, is amazing looking back from where I am now. I am grateful not to be carrying that burden of trying to fill both roles of mom and dad now that I have remarried.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Interesting question. Most likely we'd be staying over night and be on our way the following day...but in some places if we stay a few days I'm sure we'd have great conversations and discussions about great ideas and places. Not really sure, as I am sure it depends on the locations and situation...
