We are an Irish and Australian couple living in a remote community in Northern Territory. Kristy is the local high school teacher and I cook the food for the students at the school. Papunya is 255kms from Alice Springs, we travel in every 4 or so weeks.

I am originally from Ireland and moved to Australia in 2013. I met Kristy who is an Aussie from Sydney in the outback. In June we will leave here and travel to South America together for a year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are travelling to South America from September 2016 to June 2017. We would really enjoy meeting people with the same enthusiasm to travel.

Interests

We enjoy festivals, concerts, camping, travelling, cooking, hairdressing (both use to be hairdressers), reading and socialising with new and wonderful people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Kristy and I have a varied music collection between us. Both of us like very different music genres. But at the same time have an overlap of folk music and some other stuff. But mostly Kristy is into rock and folk. Where I am into drum and base, hip hop, elctro swing and folk of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kristy has lived in Sweden for a year in 2007-8, then worked as a hairdresser on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Since 2001 Kristy has traveled all over the world. In 2012 she moved to an Aboriginal community and has built up a good report with her students and community and where she met me.
I have traveled a lot in Europe and some of America. In 2013 decided to move to Australia.
Kristy and I have traveled back to England/Ireland/ German in 2014. Also we went to Bali in 2015. This year we are travelling back to Europe in July then to South America in September for a year.
