Overview
About Me
I will try to write most of this bilingually.
While I will be hosting more in the future, I am mostly trying to find new local friends in Budapest.
HU:Először is magyar az anya nyelvem de ez a profil angolul van. Ha valami érdekel és nem érted, kérdezz nyugodtan.
Szeretnék majd hostolni a jövőbe, de jelenleg csak barátokat keresek Budapesten.
I grew up in Hungary and lived in Germany for a few years before moving to the U.S. at the age of 12. The culture shock continued as I moved from Ohio to New Orleans at the age of 25 (right before Hurricane Katrina), and finally to Oregon in 2013.
Now I am moving back to Europe (Hungary for now) and starting life over again. Currently I'm living in Budapest, starting to work and hoping to find my community here.
HU: magyarországon születtem, de 12 éves korom óta USA-ban életem. Jelenleg visszaköltöztem Magyarországra, és szeretnék rájönni hogy itt akarok maradni vagy nem.
Me:
Music (rock, electric, and folk) (played in bands for years as a drummer)
Design (I'm a landscape architect, and have worked as a carpenter, woodworker, furniture builder over the years)
Politics (DIY-er, ex-activist, leftist. While we don't have to agree on everything, it would be hard to get along with a right winger)
I Love cultures and meeting people from around the world and having real conversations
HU: Politikailag baloldalon vagyok. Nem kell mindenbe egyetértenünk, de Nehéz lenne kijönni egy jobbikkal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At this point, I am mostly hoping to meet people (especially local) since my friend circle is rather small as I just moved here. I am hoping to be able to start hosting in the future though.
HU: Mivel most költöztem vissza Magyarországra, még nem ismerek sok mindenkit. Hiányzik a társaság, és szeretném újra kialakítani itt a baráti körömet.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't do TV, but do enjoy movies at home or at a small theater.
Music: I played in a number of bands throughout the years, from punk bands to brass bands, and I still enjoy a good live show, but I tend to be a lot more selective these days. I love Balkan Brass, and I enjoy a lot of the modern, electronically infused versions (Balkan Beatbox, Beats Antique).
Books: Fiction: Sci-Fi, any well written story regardless of genre, post-apocalyptic sotries, non-fiction: political books like End Game, guide/skills books on: outdoors skills, affordable - sustainable living, building, fermenting, farming.... general self-sufficiency.
Food: I honestly love just about all food if it’s done right. I do have a special love for Eastern European, Mediterranean, Japanese, Vietnamese... and Croissants
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There's been more "amazing" but on a personal level it was a solo bicycle tour of the Pacific Northwest in the United States.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversations about just about anything. I have dabbled in a ridiculously eclectic array of jobs/lifestyles etc. Plus I can help with design (architectural and other), I can cook with whatever is left in the house, fix most anything in the house and clean up after myself and the host :)
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, England, France, Greece, Italy, Norway
