Overview
About Me
Hey everyone!
My name is Laetitia, I’m 20 years old and I live in the beautiful city of Vienna. I’ve lived here for about 16 years, before that, I lived in France, where my family is originally from. I grew up bilingually (French and German) and during school, I learned English and even a little bit Italian.
I now study Transcultural Communication (Translating and Interpreting studies) at the University of Vienna and will soon be continuing my studies in Edinburgh.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling has always been a part of my life, since I always traveled back and forth between France and Austria. It soon became a passion of mine.
Today I still try to travel and discover foreign cultures and countries and to meet new people as often as I can. Unfortunately, this all comes with a certain (mostly quite high) price. This is why I love the concept of Couchsurfing and why I’m on here. It gives people, who normally wouldn’t be able to travel around as they want to, an opportunity to enjoy their trip to the fullest.
Once I’m back from Edinburgh, I also plan on taking in travelers in Vienna!
Interests
Like most of you, I really enjoy movies and music. I don’t really care about the genre as long as it’s good, which is why you can find anything on my movie shelves: from old classics, Disney movies, comedies to horror. Same goes for my iPod: Rock, R’n’B, Jazz, Rap, Funk, etc.
I won’t lie and say that I’m a super sporty person, but I do enjoy swimming, sometimes running, hiking, etc. I’ve also been playing Dodgeball once a week for one year.

Music, Movies, and Books
At the moment, I listen a lot to Rilès, Vulfpeck, Logic, 2Cellos, The Cat Empire, alt-J, the Kooks, Stromae and Hans Zimmer. But then there also are artists who, to me, are timeless and I always listen to such as Queen, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Michel Sardou, Serge Lama, Charles Aznavour,…I could go on for ages! I’m also a big fan of musicals.
As I’ve already said, I enjoy any kind of movies as long as the movie is well made, conveys a certain message or manages to touch you emotionally.
I have to admit that I only started reading for pleasure quite late. But I now really enjoy reading, I’ve read classics, comedies, thrillers and other genres. I can’t say if I have a favourite but I loved the book “The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared”.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This might not be the most amazing thing I’ve done but it was the first thing that came to my mind when I read the title:
I once was in Amsterdam with friends. When we were on our way to our apartment, we went by the main train station and heard some music, so we decided to go in and see where it was coming from. At the time, the city had put a piano in the middle of the big hall of the train station. There were some people playing and we joined them. As time passed, we found ourselves playing the piano, singing and dancing with strangers until we had to stop because someone came to lock the piano as it was too late. It was a very funny and magical night and we met a lot of super friendly people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach languages and the history and culture of France and Austria.
I’m a very open-minded person so I like learning anything really.
When it comes to sharing, I think that everyone is full of experiences and stories and that it is important and interesting to share these.
