Overview
About Me
I first went abroad when I was 19, on a study abroad program called Semester at Sea. I got to visit 10 countries, and fell in love with Vietnam, Japan and India. Now I am 34 and just finished my PhD in anthropology. I've lived in India for 7 years and in Asia for 4 years (Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, China). So lots of living abroad. My research is about a tribe in the Himalayas. I also research Tibetan refugees. I love meeting new people and making new friends. One day I hope to live in a mud hut in Ladakh, near Tibet, and have a water buffalo and dog. Simple life! Until then, I am happy to host just one person in a very small room in a big share house near Shibuya.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stayed for three weeks at the Tabo monastery. It was in northern India, bumped right up against Tibet. Founded in 998CE. The people there are amazing, and there's unqualified access to the monastery. Great memories with Tashi!
