About Me

Heeey!
I am a 28 year old Brazilian woman currently travelling around Asia and only carrying with myself my backpack, my smile, my big heart, and my dreams. I’ve always dreamt about doing volunteer work in Thailand and last year I decided to quit my job and leave Canada after living there for 5 years in order to pursue my dream. My journey in Asia started last November and it has been amazing! The volunteer work I did consisted of teaching English to kids, teenagers, and teachers in a school in a small village in Thailand. It was magical! Those kids touched my heart in a way that I can’t describe and they reminded me of how simple and beautiful life is. It was very hard to say bye to them, but my desire to keep travelling was very strong and I continued my journey in Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Philippines. Incredible countries!!!!! I feel very grateful that I am able to spend my time and money on experiences – seeing new places, meeting new people, learning about cultures, and trying new food. I strongly believe that travelling is the best way to grow and to open your mind and heart. One of my favorite quotes is: “If we were meant to stay in one place, we would have roots instead of feet” by Rachel Wolchin. Right? We are here to grow, to explore, and to connect with other people. I absolutely love meeting new people and I believe that we all have something to learn from each other.
Besides travelling, my other hobbies are being in nature, hiking, dancing, running, biking, reading, writing, spending time with family and friends, and...let’s be honest, watching Netflix! Haha Oh! I also looove karaoke. However, I’m a terrible singer, lol. Is eating considered a hobby? Omg I really really really love eating!
I love trying new things and I am always trying to improve myself. I consider myself a very spiritual person. I respect all the religions and I enjoy learning more about them. I was raised a Catholic, but I don’t have a religion nowadays. Love is my religion and nature is my temple. The more I travel the more I see how incredibly perfect nature is. I really enjoy meditating and I love yoga (wish I was more flexible, but I’m working on it!) I believe in energy and in doing good things. We attract what we are.
What else can I say about myself? I have volunteer work experience working at a hospital with kids, mentoring adults in a poor community in Brazil, organizing shelters after a natural disaster in my city back home, and helping with recycling in Vancouver. I graduated in Journalism in Brazil and in Business Management in Canada. My work experience includes working as a Human resources manager, Recruiter, Brand Ambassador, and Reporter.
Well, this is a little bit about me. Thanks for reading and I would love to connect. I’m new to Couchsurfing and I hope I can meet great people here.
