Overview
About Me
Another environmental and social activist thinking global acting local. Easy going, always smiling, enjoying serious conversations to light chitchats.
My specialization is biogeography. Taking part in a 3 year EU project where I have to work as specie and habitat specialist. For a constantly curious like me fresh air, offtrack hiking for miles all alone, access to intact Nature Reserves and a chance to experience rare wonders of wilderness is exactly what I need at this point in my life.
Besides that Im devoted to informal education. Theres so much essential knowledge to seek and share with others. Im interested in sustainability and environmental issues, geopolitics and refugee related topics, culture interactions, inequality, global socioeconomical issues and sharing my knowledge on how these different fields are related. As a part of University of Latvia's Communication center Im visiting local schools to lecture and motivate students on self growth and objective to choose a career that fits their potential after graduating. As a volunteer I help out some organizations when an occasion occours, usually in educating or entertaining children, but also in work with refugees.
I like to clarify different myths and misunderstandings so Im open to explain Islam (as I have studied it and kept close with community for 7 years), veganism, vegetarianism relation with sustainability.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: favorite is post-rock, math-rock, instrumental, and indie (Radiohead, Sleeping at last, Industries of the blind, DCFC, Citizen, We were promised jetpacks, La Dispute, Hotel books, Brand new, Sigur Ros, Explosions in The Sky, Mogwai, God is an astronaut, Bon Iver, American Football, Daughter, Patrick Watson etc.). Time to time I feel like putting on chillstep, pop rock and similar (Missio, Eden, Cryworlf) or something more hardcore (Underoath, BMTH, A day to remember).
Movies: movies with morals and deep messages, personal stories are highly appreciated (Remember me, Never let me go, The perks of being a wallflower, In to the Wild, Intouchables, Atonement, Anna Karenina, Donny Darko, Mr. Nobody, Cowspiracy etc.), I also enjoy some good comedies for laugh and horrors.
Books: reading a lot (novels, romances, classics) and also writing some free verse poems; short stories (epiphanies) myself. My fave books are Jane Austen's Pride and prejudice, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The little prince and some amazing Latvian author pieces.

I'd like to learn from some experienced hosts on how to travel and hitchhike alone safely, cheap with only one backpack on my back. Also some tips on how to host others visely.
