About Me

WARNING: Please read my profile before contacting me and let me know why you want to stay with us.

I was born and raised in my mother's home town, Burgos, up in the northern plateau of Spain (quite cold, yes, believe it or not, we even get snow in the winter). At the age of 21, after graduating in Tourism, I left for London where I did a Master's degree in Bilingual Translation (Eng-Spa) and a year later came back to Spain to continue with my translation studies at the University of Salamanca. Then again, after university, I decided to travel to Ireland to teach Spanish in a secondary school and at Trinity College in Dublin.
During my time there, I met my boyfriend (husband now) and we have been living in Valencia (his home town) since we moved back to Spain in 2005.
Parents and younger sister living in the north and missing them every day.
We feel very happy travelling and meeting people wherever we go. I'd love to be able to share lots of adventures in our trips to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband and I are addicted to travelling and visiting new places, meeting new people and tasting different dishes. We think it's the most enriching activity you can do in life.
We've always been very keen on having people visiting us, friends, family... and why not receiving guests from all over the world??? We're delighted to be part of this international network which we started using as guests in our trip to Canada in August 2016. We found lovely people who were so kind to us and made us feel part of their homes. We hope we can return the favour and keep meeting new guests and hosts. However, refrain from asking to stay with us if you are just looking for free accommodation. Our home is not a hostel or a free airbnb. We appreciate some tidiness and cleanliness and some genuine culture exchange.

Interests

I love cooking and eating, in and out, going to nice restaurants, discovering new ones, photography, trekking, swimming, pilates, skiing, sunbathing, going to concerts, listening to music, learning languages, meeting interesting people, etc.
In short, enjoying life.

Music, Movies, and Books

British and American pop and rock, but really most types of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on a hot air balloon trip in the Turkish Capadocia and in the Serengeti in Tanzania.
Scuba diving in Cuba
Walking on a glacier in New Zealand

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't really teach anything but English, I'm afraid. I'm not a very talented person, but I can offer good company and nice conversations. Even take you out for a drink or some sightseeing if we have the time. We're quite busy during the week, but you can join us for dinner and breakfast, maybe.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Our home is not a free Airbnb solution, if you genuinely want to meet us we can share good company, good food, a modern and clean flat in a quiet area near everywhere and... who knows! Whatever they may need and we could provide. We like to keep our place clean and tidy and our fridge is always full, hehehe. We have spare sheets and towels in case you need them. No worries.
We don't usually have time during the week to share in town, but can offer tourist tips.
