About Me

Enjoying the freedom of living life fully!

I didn’t really leave the States before studying abroad at Oxford in 2018, but I’ve traveled pretty widely now. I'm down with new experiences, new friends, and a good time. Life shouldn't be planned, so I usually just go with the flow and roll with the punches. I smile often, am pretty social, and love making people laugh.

Ask me about my middle-aged, family man father and his time as an international drug dealer back in the 80s. Let’s discuss the politicization of street art, or the importance of nature in self-realization. Teach me how to yodel, or share how the past year has been for you. I’m an open book with an open mind in search of good company and conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling has always been about the company and people more so than the surroundings, and this app helps me connect with other wandering souls.

Music, Movies, and Books

I think music brings people together and is key to ambiance, so I always travel with my Bluetooth speaker to bring good vibes wherever I go. I love discovering new music; live music is fun and (usually) great bang for the buck. I can’t dance very well, but that’s never stopped me from letting loose and flailing my limbs with flair every time I hear a beat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This past summer I backpacked my way up 900 miles of the East Coast of the US by staying with 11 friends across 8 cities (which actually inspired me to start couchsurfing)

Teach, Learn, Share

Share something about yourself, and I’ll return the favor. One of the things I love most about couchsurfer is that the people on here are usually pretty interesting and full of stories.

On my end, if you’re interested in theories of justice, formal political theory, or ethics, I’m glad to discuss philosophical principles over dinner. However, assuming that’s not your jam, I can also teach you how to have the confidence of a self-assured, yet undoubtedly mediocre, white man.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation and a decent sense of humor. Also I was raised with US Southern hospitality. As such, I do everything I can to return your generosity with gratitude and considerateness, like helping prepare a meal, in general cleaning up after myself, and always providing Tennessee whiskey upon request.

Maybe as we cross paths we’ll be lucky enough to enter into an adventure or two, or just share some laughs over drinks, but first we have to say hello!
