My husband Harvey and I live in upstate NY on Lake Ontario in a small village called Waterport. Athough i grew up here, we lived in the UK for 15 years( where Harvey originates from). Harvey is a website designer, graphic artist , and inventor. He has worked on many interesting projects, including patterncooler.com , design of the ergonomic Moonleap meditation cushion ( moonleap.com), and pioneered a revolutionary greenhouse concept using soap bubbles to insulate a working greenhouse. Harvey is also a Zen Buddhist and meditates daily. Harvey also loves to cook and we both enjoy healthy eating and are long time vegetarians.

I have a great interest in and also practice permaculture techniques in my gardens. When we lived in the UK i ran a small nursery business where i specialised in unusual and rare herbs and edible plants from around the world. You can see my website at unusualherbsandedibles.co.uk
I love permaculture and gardening. I have also recently rediscovered how much i love makeing pots on the pottery wheel.

We have two girls who are now grown up and are having their own adventures. We are currently planning a trip to the Gulf Islands off of Western Canada. I have wanted to visit those Islands for a long time. So we are excited to have the chance to finally get to see the islands and meet some of the locals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are new to couch surfing but love the concept. We are at a stage in our life when our kids are grown up and moved out, so have the extra rooms for guests, but also have the extra time to do some travelling for ourselves.
